In this session, participants will explore the history of the Indigenous peoples in the Edmonton area through a walking tour of the river valley at Terwillegar park led by Dr. Dwayne Donald. The walk will provide a context for understanding the relationality that Indigenous peoples have with land, water, animals, plants and peoples as having value, spirit and connection to ourselves and one another.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a location change: Terwillegar Park. Participants will need to board the designated bus in the parking lot of the Blatchford Hangar starting at 12:30pm. The bus will promptly leave Fort Edmonton at 12:45 pm. The bus will take participants to Terwillegar Park. participants will return by bus to the park at approximately 3 pm. This is a dog off-leash area. Participants should dress for the walk with suitable clothing and footwear and be in good physical condition to walk a fair distance.
